Poems to Express: Creation
Creation To birth new eyes before the world, a handmade poem within my journal, another life dwelling in me, or a new appetite before life. To find in many places a fragment of my soul, and craft a new soul that will inhabit many places. To be a portal between the unfinished and the world— Genetic legacies or not, but certainly alive.
Criação (Original Version PT 🇧🇷) Parir novos olhos perante o mundo. um novo poema gestado à mão, uma outra vida habitando em mim, ou um novo apetite perante a vida. Encontrar em cada lugar um pedaço da minha alma, e fabricar uma nova alma que habitará vários lugares. Ser portal entre o inacabado e o mundo— Legados genéticos ou não, mas certamente vivos.
Important footnote: I had previously shared that I would release one poem every Saturday for the series “Poems to Express.” However, I’ve come to realize that this isn’t a good idea since Saturdays are usually when I’m busy ✨ living ✨ (and bet you are too). Also, I don’t like to force myself to anything when it comes to art. So… I’ll keep sharing one poem per week, just without a fixed day. I’m letting it move with the rhythm of my weeks. :)))

I love the image of being a portal between what isn’t finished yet and what’s ready to exist in the world. The bilingual version adds another layer, almost like the poem itself is living in more than one body at once.
